Online Course
Development Application

Digital Education will start accepting applications for online course development in August 2016 for courses being offered during the Summer and/or Fall 2017.

Review Course Development Guidelines before proceeding with the Online Course Development Application.

Our Instructional Design Team (IDT) provides consultation and training to Purdue faculty and instructors interested in developing his or her course for online delivery. Developing an effective online course requires more than posting a series of readings, lectures, and course activities to the web. In fact, it often entails redesigning existing course content and assessments for the virtual environment, designing new online learning activities and implementing strategies that take full advantage of online communication and collaborative tools.

Attempting to build an online course in solitary can quickly become very overwhelming and frustrating. Let our experienced team provide you with the essential guidance, research, and tools to ease your transition to teaching online. Collaboratively, we can develop and design a high-quality course that unlocks the great possibilities online teaching and learning offers both you and your students.

In the mean time, we invite you to explore our site. On this site you'll find:

  • A step by step guide for the design process

  • Online Course Design Consultation Survey
  • New technological tools being piloted
