Shari has worked at Purdue University since 2007. Prior to joining the Purdue staff, Shari was an escrow closing agent and a residential real estate salesperson. She obtained her bachelor's degree in hospitality and food management from Ball State University and has spent many years in the hospitality management profession.

Melody Carducci

Melody Carducci
Program Administrator

Melody has worked at Purdue University since 2009. Prior to joining the Purdue staff, Melody was a healthcare manager for Sisters of St Francis Healthcare in the radiology department, and holds a healthcare management certificate from Indiana University. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Purdue, and spent time teaching first grade in Lafayette and computer education for middle school age children in Indianapolis. Melody also holds a Lean Six Sigma green belt certification, and is and advocate for process improvement on all levels.


Robin Cunningham

Associate Director, Degree and Professional Programs

Robin has a BS in elementary education and an MS in higher education administration. She started at Purdue University in 1992 in the Office of Admissions. She worked as a reference librarian assistant in the Krannert School of Management Library from 1994 to 1999. She worked as a conference coordinator before joining Distance Learning. While a conference coordinator, she became a Certified Meeting Planner.

Kevin Flanagan

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Kevin moved to Indiana in early 2002, and shortly thereafter began a series of adventures in the book industry. He has worked in a big-box retail establishment, co-owned a science fiction and fantasy book store, and assisted patrons in a public library. Kevin joined the Digital Education team in September 2015. When he isn't glued to a computer screen, he enjoys spending time with animals and traversing nature trails.


Valerie Hardy

Valerie has a BS in Management & Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington. She started working at Purdue in 1992 in the Office of Contract & Grant Business Affairs, now known as Sponsored Programs Services. She has also worked in the following areas during her Purdue career: Accounting, Physical Facilities, Purchasing, and Business Management in Purdue Extended Campus and now as a Program Administrator in Digital Education. Valerie provides program support for Engineering Professional Education (EPE) and Purdue NExT.

Shannon Harvey

Shannon started working at Purdue University in 2003 in Sponsored Programs. She then moved to Purdue Extended Campus where she worked in the Business Office before moving to the Learning Center in 2010. Shannon oversees professional development and certificate training.


Denice Johnson

Denice started her Purdue career in 1988 as a receptionist/secretary in Krannert School of Management Dean’s Office. She transferred to Krannert Undergraduate Advising Office before moving to Purdue Extended Campus in Conferences. She moved down the hall to Distance Learning and has been with the department for approximately 17 years. Denice works with the registration process of graduate and undergraduate students and non-credit programs.

Maricel Lawrence

Maricel Lawrence
Associate Director for Digital Education

Maricel Lawrence has a BA in Spanish from Indiana University and a MS in Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University. She is originally from Argentina and moved to the US in 2005, where she learned to speak English and completed an online program with the University of South Africa on Tourism, Travel and Hospitality. Prior to coming to Purdue, Maricel was the Market Area Instructional Manager at Berlitz for 7 years and after that she worked as a Personnel Development Specialist for CSCI. She enjoys supporting students and faculty, and in her free time, she likes to take pictures, cook and travel.


Christy Marks

Manager of Distance Learning Training & Development

Prior to joining the Distance Learning team in May 2014, Christy owned and operated her photography studio since 1999 as well as previously working at Purdue University Printing Services from 2000-2002. Christy received her bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ball State University, specializing in photography, and is small business credentialed.

Chad Mueller

Lead Instructional Designer

Chad is the lead instructional designer for Purdue Extended Campus. Prior to coming to Purdue, he taught Political Science courses full-time at both Vernon & Weatherford Community Colleges in Texas. Chad's specialization is in teaching online and hybrid courses and he has assisted faculty members in various academic disciplines in developing and designing their distance education courses. Chad has a Master’s Degree in Educational Design and Instructional Technology from Texas Tech and another Master’s Degree in Political Science from Midwestern State University.


Lisa Peters

Lisa started her Purdue career in 1980 with the Purchasing Department as an accounts payable clerk. She then transferred to Purdue Extended Campus in 1984 where she has spent the past 30 years working in a variety of positions before moving to Online and Professional Learning. Lisa facilitates the registration process for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in Degree and Professional Programs and Self-Supporting Programs.

Debbie Runshe

Debra Runshe is an instructional designer in the Course Design and Development group of Teaching and Learning Technologies, ITaP. Deb assists faculty in addressing complex teaching and learning issues relating to teaching methods, assessment, and the use of instructional technology. Her dedication to quality teaching has led to her involvement in many national endeavors. As a member of the Carnegie Foundationís CASTL Program: Scholarly Inquiry about Active Pedagogies cluster group, Deb explored active learning pedagogies in universities across the nation. She has been involved in several grant projects funded by: Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), National Science Foundation (NSF), and Department of Education (DOE) focused on a variety of pedagogical and instructional technology topics. Deb holds a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University.


Erica Vail

Erica Vail
Instructional Designer

Erica Vail is an instructional designer for online learning. She is from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Purdue, Erica was the Director of Educational Technology at Baptist Bible College & Seminary of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. She has a passion for providing support for online faculty and students and for casting a vision for continuous innovations in the area of distance education. She enjoys providing faculty with new perspectives on how to deliver content effectively by tying technology to pedagogical strategies. Erica holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Education Degree in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University.

Chris White

Chris started working at Purdue University in 1979 in the Botany and Plant Pathology Department as the receptionist/departmental head secretary. In 1981 became an administrative assistant in the School of Science. She worked until 1994 when she took time off to raise her two sons. She returned to Purdue in 2012 as a Clerk at The Education Store until she transferred to Distance Learning. Chris and her husband, Mike, own their own business creating distinctive hand-tied brooms.


Tanisha Willoughby

Tanisha Willoughby
Associate Director of Compliance for Digital Education

Tanisha received her B.S. in Secondary Education from Butler University and her J.D. from Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indiana University, Indianapolis. She previously served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana and Administrative Law Judge for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Prior to joining Purdue, she worked as Managing Associate Attorney at Blatt, Hasenmiller, Leibsker and Moore. Tanisha managed the Indiana office of her Chicago based law firm and specialized in Creditorís rights and Bankruptcy law. Tanisha is licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
